Took me forever to shoot any of my Marni x H&M pieces but that’s so typically me. I’ve been wearing it through the season but I’m just so slow at posting! One of the first pieces I decided to grab while shopping the collection at H&M. Yes, it’s from the ladies collection but I’m guilty for loving silk bottoms! I also just purchased silk printed pants from Club Monaco recently – Yay. I’ve always loved this whole “pajama look” and wished it was introduced more in men’s wear but we all know I don’t really care which side I’m shopping on. The stupid thing is I grabbed the biggest size thinking I would need room for my front junk but to be honest I could have really gotten two sizes smaller because it’s just falling off my waist… Or what I’d like to think is that I lost weight… I didn’t.

Nine more days till I’m flying out to Las Vegas with all my pretty little friends! I’m so excited! I’ve made a stupid list of what I need to pack (just in case I forget to pack anything) and I’m pretty sure I’m over packing. Typical of me to do.

Another year and another birthday – I’m officially in my mid 20′s. What was supposed to be an unplanned birthday turned out to be a week full of dinners with friends. I’m not complaining, I love dining with friends but near the end I will say, I was getting pretty exhausted. Working seven days straight, dinners almost every evening then getting home after 12am is pretty tiring. Though I unexpectedly felt pretty spoiled this year for my birthday. Who doesn’t love getting spoiled? I had a lovely dinner at Nuba with Mitzi and Craig. It had been over a year since we all had dined together and that was great. Wednesday my closest girlfriends decided to throw me a surprise birthday dinner at Guu which was extra amazing and spoiled me with a bunch of gifts then. Thursday I had dinner with Methsse, Sarah, Lauren and Parsons at my favourite Greek restaurant then we took a nice stroll on the quay. Friday, my actual birthday, was a simple dinner with my sister and my boyfriend at one of my favourite sushi joints. I was surprised with the ultimate birthday gift after dinner – a Chanel wallet. Siiiiiiiigh… I love it so so so much. Saturday, I had high tea with Jeanette and my sister at the Fairmount Hotel Vancouver – that was nice, chill and romantic. Then my sister took me out to watch one of my favourite plays – the Alter Boyz. It’s so hilarious. It was the second time for me watching it, the first was in New York in 2007 and it was so funny then and it was funny now.

Anyways, this shirt was also an early birthday gift. I’m a sucker for two-tone anything. I enjoy the half chambray and half striped shirt – it kind of has a Robert Geller feel to it. I thought it’d be fun to play around with stripes and prints together so I paired it with these Club Monaco shorts… okay, they’re really swim trunks but who really cares. I love the unusual print on the shorts, it kind of reminds me of a print you’d find on an old plate or something.

Apologies for the late post! Been enjoying the summer that’s finally here in the city which is a fine enough reason to ignore my blog or so I think. Here’s a picture taken by Ben of VanStreet – thought I’d post it up. Kind of caught me off guard when Ben approached me and asked to take a photo of my outfit. I was just taking a fifteen minute breather outside of the store when he approached me. I obviously don’t dress any different from my work life. It was also the first day I wore my new Patrik Ervell jacket out. Got it for 70% off, what a steal! It’s a ladies baseball jacket – the body is cotton, the collar, base and cuff are silk. I’m also loving the japanese-esque dragonfly print. You’ll see it again in a later post I’m sure!

One of my most favourite sweaters I have ever purchased. I’ve had it for a while now, bought it for myself last Christmas. It’s 100% cashmere and makes me feel like a lady bug. Anyways if you haven’t heard of the Chauncey line before it’s an amazing knitwear line from Brussels. The designer worked with Hermes, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Salvatore Ferragamo. I paired it with the H&M Conscious Collection mint shorts made of organic cotton. Probably the only thing close to pastel-anything I picked up for the season but definitely a colour that’s easy to wear with every shade of grey I have in my closet!

It’s been a crazy month so far, I wouldn’t fully consider it a good crazy month either. There’s just been a lot of stuff happening all at once and it can feel pretty stressful. Especially when it’s personal, family, work and relations happening all at once. My head literally just wanted to blow up. It get’s to that point where you just have to cry it out in tears and let’s just be honest – I had to cry it out. I had to cancel out on my friends with our trip to Vegas, my sister had an allergic reaction to antibiotics so she had to get rushed to the emergency room, planning flights to my cousin’s wedding in November, father’s day of course made me think of my dad and just a bunch of other stuff going on that I don’t even want to mention that just added to my ever-growing stress.

I think to really top it off my wallet got stolen. That was probably the biggest headache. Every week something shitty had to happen and then of course, my precious wallet got stolen. So there goes my Gucci – sad face. This will be the last post you’ll ever see that wallet in my hand. I don’t normally hope for negative things to happen to certain people but in time karma will just catch up to the person who stole my wallet. I guess I’ll just have to be on the hunt for a new wallet… I was thinking Prada or there was a Chanel I really liked. We’ll see. Hopefully July will be a better month.

Jace and I meant to shoot for a while but the weather definitely hasn’t been on our side nor was our schedule perfectly matching up but we were finally able to get that all together. We had a whole day to do whatever we wanted which was fun. Wearing stripes always reminds me of the Prada spring/summer 2011 collection but this sweater is four years old and I still adore it.

The whole entire month of June has been completely miserable. In terms of everything – the most exciting thing that has happened was my recent acquire of the Givenchy pre-fall collection shark t-shirt. It makes my heart melt. I can’t wait to get a hold of the rest of my “wants” from the collection. You’ll see a post of it soon! Did I also mention I got a pair of running shoes? Yeah I did. Time to get somewhat fit.

Being sick sucks. I was supposed to have a pleasant spa day with my sister at Spa Utopia on Saturday, instead I felt like complete crap the whole entire time I was there. The company of my sister was great and the spa was beautiful but when you’re feeling like shat, all that seems to be set aside. The weather was perfect too and it was so hard to enjoy that as well! Oh well, I got to rest up that evening/night and all day Sunday so I’m feeling just a tad bit better.

Stripe on stripe on stripe on stripe in black, white, grey, black, white, grey, black, white, grey. I normally hate clashing print’s like plaid on camo or some mess like that which I witnessed earlier today but playing with stripes I think is okay. Just don’t get crazy. Okay, I just don’t go crazy with it but you can. I thought it would be fun to play around with a subtle vertical stripes with horizontal stripes with the top. You can hardly tell but it’s secretly fun for me.

I’ve been a tad naughty and purchased a Givenchy tee. Sigh. So much for saving money!
