Oh 2011, you flew right in and just like that you flew right out. Like every year it seems to just go by but 2011 brought many good memories and also a bit of stress. My blogs second birthday was just a few weeks ago – hurrah! Thanks for sticking through fat and skinny, whoever has been following. 2011 was generous in ways of vacation. I got to enjoy a trip to Las Vegas with four girlfriends. It’s probably going to be something I will never forget. My sister and I flew together for the first time together. Discovered San Francisco on our own and it was great. I’ll never ever forget our lovely hotel. I got to attend my first wedding. Yeah I know, twenty-three years old and finally attending to a wedding and it’s probably going to be the most beautiful wedding I’ll ever personally witness. I left my job which gave me the security that I need and was scared of losing it. One of the best choices I have ever made in the end. 2011 also saw something in which was significant – my health. Something I’ll have to do in 2012 is self reflect and take care of myself. This year saw a stronger bond between me and my friends, adventures in other cities with my sister and I hope that continues in 2012!

I don’t know what 2012 has in store for me but I hope it is good. I would also like to wish everyone the best and may good things come your way in the new year. May 2012 bring more uncontrollable shopping, more laughter and maybe a Chanel bag? A-hohoho we’ll see! So bonjour 2012 and au revoir 2011!

I’m feeling a little bit bummed out but it’s nothing too serious for now. I applied for a design team and didn’t get it only because I lack experience but that’s just reality. So what now? School probably. Pick up some classes or courses or doing a full program again. I also have some mini projects in mind to work out in the next year and maybe start a mini collection of something. If that doesn’t work out, I would love to pursue more into being a fashion illustrator. If I can draw forever, I really wouldn’t mind that at all.

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear, Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair but really Fuzzy Wuzzy is my cardigan. A fun two-tone cardigan I discovered in H&M under the “trend” line – in a wool blend, it is probably the warmest cardigan I ever bought. I enjoy how it’s a zip front and that the sleeves contrast with the body in texture. I’ve never really owned anything Angora and I think this might be the last anything Angora I will own. It just fluffs everywhere and anywhere – my friend had something in her eye and it ended up being a fibre from my sleeves, oh Angora!

Helloooo! Sorry it’s been a while – tis the season to be busy! It’s been somewhat crazy but tolerable. I don’t want to rub it in, if this is you, but I finished all my Christmas shopping; my list was short so it wasn’t all too complicated for me. Last Friday, my six amazing friends and I exchanged secret Santa gifts. It was really fun, I honestly feel bad whoever picked my name out originally because I’m a really tough person to shop for. The rules were no gift cards and no food. I’m a person who loves gift cards; it’s probably one of the best gift you can pick anyone whose a bitch to shop for! But Julie did more than just an amazing job on my gift! You can never really go wrong with anything from Aritzia so Julie gave me a fluffy TNA circle scarf in a mauve. I love it, I love it, I love it! It didn’t really stop there, I really love my girlfriends and I gave them all a gift straight from my heart. Probably one of the best gifts I could ever really give a friend. I illustrated a drawing of all seven of us together, framed it, wrapped it, scribbled on the wrapping paper and gave it away with joy! You know it’s good when you make friends cry. I love you girls!

I don’t also, want to rub this in but OH MY WORD, last Saturday was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to because Jay stole my heart away! My sister loves me so much and surprised me with tickets to the Jay-Z & Kanye West concert “Watch The Throne” and let me tell you Jay was so amazing. Seriously, I cannot express how amazing he was! I could literally just scream thinking about it. Though earlier in the concert before they performed, there was a bit of a situation where I was called a “fucking homo” by a guy that I don’t even know. Yeah, you know what, I am but it was really rude and uncalled for. I’m sad that my sister and her friend had to witness such hate. My sister was so upset, she got him kicked out and we got moved… to even better seats! As great as the experience of watching Jay and Kanye perform was, I’ll always remember what had happened too.

Let’s take a moment to talk about how cool my t-shirt is. Yeah, that’s all… I just really love it. Givenchy just loves to take my breath away! Well, I hope everyone is having a great holiday so far! Wishing you all, a lovely Merry Christmas!

Every season I like to add a new pop of colour in my ever so monotone closet of mine. So this fall/winter I decided to accept a colour from the red family; maroon! Nothing too major of course or overly exciting but subtle enough. In my buy of things, my maroon pieces now consist of an oversize t-shirt, a pair of trousers, a sweater striped with maroon and a toque. I don’t like going too crazy but I don’t think it’ll get too tiresome either. I have a feeling next spring, my prediction of likings might be adding yellow to my wardrobe! We’ll see.

So I had to get a new set of toques in my closet due to the fact that my old ones are now pilling like crazy. A simple solution would be buying a little hand-held machine that eats the pills away but knowing me, it just gave me a new reason to buy new toques. I’m usually somewhat picky about my toques, only because I like them to fit and fall a certain way. I don’t usually wear the tight cap fit styles only because it feels like something is suffocating my head or eating my brains; I couldn’t decide but either or I like wearing my toques baggy. I found this lovely number at Aritzia, it’s by one of their house labels Talula Babaton. It goes for $55CA and has the perfect blend of materials – no it isn’t acrylic. It’s made up of 80% merino wool and 20% cashmere which for the price is absolutely amazing. I did a guy thing and bought three in different colours; a charcoal grey, heather grey and the maroon.

This is what happens when I get a tad bored and if I’m left with a pen in one hand and paper in front of me. Some scribbles, sketches and girls. Enjoy!

Leather shoes for whatever price, sure why not. So these are my first pair of pink shoes and probably going to be my only pair of pink shoes ever. I had second thoughts about them but they were so fun, I couldn’t give them up. What I love about these full on buckled up boots? The alligator print on the inside – how secretly fun.

My girlfriends and I pulled names for Secret Santa… and I feel bad for which ever friend that got me! I am not the easiest person to get a gift for and the rules? No gift cards or food. I love gift cards and I love food. I can only wish you luck, love!

So here is what was in those shopping bags. In fact, that’s not all of it – I got shoes too. There’s a possibility that I bought a little too much but collaborations are a one time thing. Besides, it doesn’t hurt my closet to add some colour and print to it. Rawr.
